About H&F Local Safeguarding Children Partnership
Hammersmith & Fulham Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) is independently chaired and consists of three key agencies who collectively hold statutory responsibilities for safeguarding; the Local Authority (Family Services), Health (NHS NWL ICB) and the Police (Central West BCU & Royal Parks).
The LSCP is not a public body under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and therefore is not obliged to respond to FOI requests.
Our priorities are:
Welcome from the Hammersmith and Fulham Safeguarding Partners:
Hammersmith and Fulham LSCP are currently reviewing their arrangements as set out in Working Together 2023. As part of this review, we have recently said goodbye to our Independent Chair, Mike Howard who provided excellent leadership during his period as Chair. We are now working with three statutory safeguarding partners: the Local Authority, the Metropolitan Police and the North West London Integrated Care Board. Education is our fourth member, as we look to grow our partnership with our education colleagues as set out in the Working Together guidance.
We are also pleased to have a number of different organisations and agencies who make up our partnership and who are detailed on the LSCP Website.
In Hammersmith and Fulham, we strongly promote that safeguarding children is everybody’s responsibility, and that children can be best safeguarded from abuse and neglect if agencies communicate, share information appropriately and work well together. To ensure that this happens, we work together in partnership with many different service providers, agencies and sectors across the community. We do this in a number of ways, including ensuring that they follow procedures and guidance based on good practice, that they are well informed and able to access good quality training on a wide range of child safety issues.
The Hammersmith and Fulham LSCP work hard to ensure the children and young people in the borough are kept safe and protected. This is achieved through monitoring effectiveness of arrangements and coordinating what is in place locally.
We want families to be resilient, healthy and safe and to live in communities that are also safe. We want children to attain the skills that they need at schools and colleges so that they grow up to be independent and productive. We want children and young people driving our local growth and engaging in the plans we make and the services we deliver.
This website is a resource for children, young people and their families, as well as practitioners who are supporting them. Some of the information we need to publish in line with statutory guidance. Practitioners can use the link on the website to book our multi-agency training courses as well as access reports and other practice guidance.
